March 2019 Monthly Highlights

March 31, 2019. Supported ONE HGS RUN 2019.

March 21, 2019. Attended the PBEd Youth Works PH program at SEDA Hotel. It’s a nice year project to improve access to qualify training and employment opportunities by providing access to work-base training. The priority areas are Iloilo, Cebu, Zamboanga, Davao, Cagayan De Oro, Gen. Santos and Greater Manila Area.


March 21, 2019. Day 2 : Development Entrepreneurship Training-Workshop. Workshop: Identification of leaders, technical experts, political actors/networking facilitators and insiders. The Development Entrepreneurship Training-Workshop is organized by The Asia Foundation, Iloilo Economic Development (ILED) Foundation, Iloilo Provincial Government, Iloilo City Government and FutureSmart Resources+Strategies, Inc. It is supported by the Government of Australia – Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.


March 20, 2019. Mr. Rene Sanapo, TAF Consultant, facilitates the first workshop. Workshop Group reports are presented by Osmond of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Joeven Tansi of Iloilo Foundation for Information Technology, and Nelson of the American Association of Western Visayas. The training is organized by The Asia Foundation, Iloilo Economic Development (ILED) Foundation, Iloilo Provincial Government, Iloilo City Government and FutureSmart Resources+Strategies, Inc. It is supported by the Government of Australia – Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.


March 19, 2019. From 250+ entries, we are down to 15 teams! Presenting the NATIONAL FINALISTS of the 5th Philippine Startup Challenge. All finalists will present their startup ideas to the startup community leaders on April 5, 2019 in Iloilo City. CueCar (Team CueCar, PHINMA University of Iloilo) – A web and mobile application that provides immediate assistance in case of car emergencies and road related accidents.

March 8, 2019. Attended the REGIONAL STATISTICAL COMMITTEE 1st Quarter Meeting at NEDA.

March 6, 2019. The Iloilo Provincial Government together with the Department of Trade and Industry Region 6 welcomed a delegation from the Foreign Trade Service Corps (FTSC) headed by DTI Undersecretary Rowel S. Barba. The delegation held a courtesy meeting with the Iloilo Provincial Government as part of their Home Assignment Visit on 4-6 March 2019. This meeting aimed to update the delegation on the emerging investment and export opportunities in Iloilo that they can promote to investors in their respective posts. The Foreign Trade Service Corps is composed of Trade Representatives or Commercial Attaches representing the Commercial Posts of the Department of Trade and Industry around the world. The FTSC promotes the initiatives of the DTI, specifically on trade and investment promotions, as well as trade policy in key overseas markets. March 5, 2019. Presented the IT-BPM update with the DTI-Foreign Trade Service Corps, headed by USEC Atty. Rowel Barba.
